Pizza and Red wine. At 11am. During Julie’s Bridal Prep. It sort of upset my stoical Englishness. Well, Belgians have a reputation in the UK for being as mad as a box of frogs (in a nice way of course) and it wasn’t umm, what I was used to. Don’t tell my wife but I did sneak a lovely slice of pizza! From red wine to a beautiful blue vintage Bentley and multi-coloured macarons decorating the tables – I think it was apt that when we were at the cosy Bay Tree Hotel in Burford a rainbow broke out over the high street.
As I stepped out of the car at St Peters Church in Eynsham, you could hear the wonderful uplifting Gospel Choir. Even the priest couldn’t contain himself and was found to be dancing along in the corner. After the ceremony, I thought Julia was about to explode with emotions of the day so far. Truly beautiful.

“Doesn’t your mummy look beautiful today?” asked my wife
“Yes, but my mummy always looks beautiful” was the reply in a rather matter of fact manner.
The atmosphere of the day was contagious, even the locals were affected. As I was arranging group photos, a neighbour called Victoria leant out of the window to share her delight on the scenes below.
Lovely day, lovely company, lovely food. What more could a photographer want from a wedding day?
