I had the pleasure yesterday of photographing the opening of the Palm Court Restaurant Bar and Piano lounge at the wonderful Grosvenor Pulford Hotel in Pulford, near Chester. If you have never had the privilege of visiting the Grosvenor Pulford, I can only report that it has to be Chester’s most stylish hotel. Work has been ongoing for the past few months to get this atmospheric restaurant ready.
Unique Chester venue
They don’t make restaurants like this any more! Such is the pity. Attention to detail and a wonderful Yamaha grand piano. The food tastes so much better as a result.
The new 180-cover restaurant, designed by Lister Carter seamlessly integrates a leafy tropical garden with a stylish, modern décor. Double-height glass ceilings give an airy, spacious feel, with bubbling fountains bringing the outside in and creating a relaxing dining experience.
Belle Voci
The opening was headlined by the Voice Finalists, Opera Duo Belle Voci, who captivated the invited guests with their powerful yet delicate and pure performance. The acoustics in this place are superb.
Chris has taken a hands-on role in preparing the Palm Court to deliver the best acoustics possible, and is looking forward to performing there frequently, saying “I’ve played all over Britain and I’ve never seen a set up like this – the time, money and effort gone into it is fantastic – simply marvellous”.
Nathan said of the event “it’s been a fantastic night. The restaurant is amazing and its been a special treat to see Belle Voci perform. I’m looking forward to coming back with a few mates from the show”.
The 200 guests enjoyed a selection of canapes sampling the Palm Court evening menu, including dishes such as Cured and Confit Trout with Crab Rillettes, and Whipped Goat’s Cheese Bon Bon. Accompanying these culinary delights was champagne from Laurent-Perrier and an exclusive Nelson’s Gin cocktail.
It was such a lovely atmosphere and relaxed afternoon of entertainment
