Double Wedding!
What a busy day, photographing 2 sisters getting married at the same Church, on the same day, just an hour apart!
The Story
This was originally the date that Charlotte & Dan had chosen as their wedding date. They had planned to have a Fairground Theme, complete with Dodgems, a Coconut Shy, Candy floss, a Steel Band and a real party in the evening!
Unfortunately, as Covid came along, their dream wedding was reduced to a small Church wedding and drinks with family. However, as Charlotte’s sister Sophia, couldn’t get married on the day she & Jack had chosen in May 2020 and as restrictions lifted slightly, the sisters decided to combine their weddings and hold them together, at the same Church, on the same day.
The Arrival
The girls arrived together at St Oswald’s Church in their dad’s beautiful dark blue Rolls Royce. Both brides looked stunning in their different style of dress, with beautiful flowers and short veils to cover their faces.
Charlotte & Dan’s Ceremony
Dan was waiting patiently at the Altar and all the guests, wearing masks as is the current directive. seated in the pews. Sophia entered the Church first as Maid of Honour for her sister and joined their family & friends in the pews.
As Charlotte arrived on the arm of her father, looking absolutely stunning in her dress, she smiled at Dan as soon as she saw him as she turned to walk down the aisle towards him.
Once their Ceremony was finished all the guests congregated outside to congratulate the happy couple. It was a really windy day so hats & veils had to be held during the group photos!
Sophia & Jack’s Ceremony
Sophia’s groom Jack then arrived with his family & friends to join Sophia’s party and Charlotte swapped roles with her sister as Maid of Honour.
Sophia entered the Church on the arm of her father, just after her 2 beautiful Flower Girls, Margot & Neave, her young daughters. Neave, as any 2-year-old would, preferred to have a wander around the aisles during the Service.
After Sophia & Jack’s Ceremony finished, they left the Church holding Margot & Neave. Their guests congregated outside the Church for photos and celebrations too. Both of the newlywed couples then posed for photos outside the Church doors before heading off in the Rolls Royce and their guests following on a bus.
Venue: St Oswalds Parish Church, Oswestry, Shropshire.
