Boom! What a fab day. Lowenna, the beautiful bride and Ross her groom chose Birtsmorton Court for their wedding venue and what a venue this is!
A Grade 1 listed fortified Medieval moated Manor House near Malvern in Worcestershire, Birtsmorton Court has it all. With its walled garden and maze, a moat and how could I forget the bridge to the massive oak doors protecting the Great Hall from unexpected guests! Simply enchanting!
Unfortunately, it poured with rain all morning so the plans for an outdoor wedding had to be scrapped and the ceremony relocated to the Great Hall. Just as the bridal party made their way across the bridge, amidst a huddle of umbrellas, the sun came and instantaneously transformed the venue into the enchanted place that it is. Sun streamed through the stain glass windows giving a soft streak of light across the room. With its high ceilings, ornate walls and golden chandelier, this stunning hall was a perfect backdrop for Lowenna & Ross’s wedding ceremony.
After the ceremony, with a string quartet playing, the wedding party moved outside onto the Terrace by the lake to enjoy canapés and champagne. After plenty of mingling and chatting with family and friends, we borrowed the happy couple for a stroll around the Walled Gardens, to the decorative Pergola where they originally planned to hold their Ceremony and into the Maze. The Wild Flower beds and stunning weeping willow trees provide stunning, natural locations for their photos. After returning to their guests for the sumptuous 3 Course meal, we ‘borrowed’ Lowenna & Ross after the speeches for the sunset as they especially wanted to capture the sun setting over the lake.
The evening party started with their first dance in the Garden Room then bongos and a DJ to really get the party started. As Lowenna and Ross wanted a wedding day to remember, we all went outside as it got dark for a great sparkler tunnel in the woods then, a grand finale with a surprise firework display over the lake made for such an exciting ending to a magical day.
The planning and incredible detail that Lowenna and Ross had put into their wedding day really showed off and we felt very privileged to be a part of their day here at Birtsmorton Court.
We can’t wait to photograph there again in the future.
