Fairytale Wedding
As soon as we met Gareth and Victoria we knew this was going to be a fairytale wedding. When we first met, they had only just got engaged and in the early stages of planning their day. That was in May, and by late August, they are getting married! It was easy to see the chemistry between them and with Victoria’s playful nature and Gareth’s warmth and attention to detail, their day was packed with laughter, fun and lovely moments.
Combermere Abbey is such a magical venue for a wedding with its immaculately kept gardens with topiary bushes, fruit tree maze and outside wooden bbq and wood-fired pizza oven area.
The weather gods were kind to us with lovely warm sunshine (for most of the day) which the guests enjoyed being outside, relaxing on the verandah or in the beautiful gardens.
The Preparations
We arrived to find Victoria having the finishing touches to her gorgeous long dark hair, with her beautiful baby daughter on her lap and surrounded by her bridesmaids and best mate Chris. Meanwhile, Gareth was already dressed and in the Reception Marquee checking the tables were perfectly presented and decorated. Back at Groom Prep HQ, the groomsmen were getting ready in Crossley House, one of the immaculately presented stone cottages in the cobbled courtyard.
Outdoor Ceremony
Luckily the couple’s plan to get married outside was able to go ahead with warm sunshine and only a slight breeze. Victoria’s father accompanied her from the Keeper Cottage, along the path by the Walled Gardens and through the Glass House. In the centre of the impressive maze of apple and pear trees, Gareth was waiting for her, along with their guests and a harpist playing relaxing beautiful music.
Fizz, Canapés & Ice Cream
After the signing of the wedding certificate and confetti tunnel, everyone headed across to the gardens for refreshments for some groups photos and to relaxing in the immaculately kept gardens.
The Abbey
Ash the Wedding Co-ordinator arrived in a golf buggy to whisk Victoria and Gareth away for some portrait photos. We headed down to the stunning Abbey for some photos by the lake, some dancing on the steps and some exploring of the gardens.
Making an Entrance
On our return, the guests were already seated for the Wedding Breakfast so the newly weds made their entrance to the guests’ applause and clapping. After a sumptuous meal of Rack of Lamb, baby roast potatoes with all the trimmings, speeches followed with some emotional and funny words, especially from the Best Man!
Dancing the Night Away
After a lively first dance, everyone dived onto the dancefloor and the party really got going! The upbeat tunes chosen by Gareth and Victoria definately got all ages on their feet, especially Theabella, who couldn’t stop jumping around the floor!
