Incredible 5-Hat Tipi!

Well, what an amazing sight as we walked across the field … an incredible 5-hat tipi on top of a hill! Ellie and Liam, along with family and friends, worked so hard for a whole week to get their very personalised wedding venue completely perfect. The detailed decor, the outdoor games, the homemade tables and the stunning floral archway, all based at the bride’s parent’s farm, absolutely made this the day they had both dreamed of.

A Beautiful Family Celebration

This was such a family wedding, with the bride and her 5 bridesmaids – plus mum and baby Olive – all getting ready at Kitty’s View Country Lodges, in one of Ellie’s grandad’s beautifully finished log cabins complete with spectacular views across the Cheshire countryside. I met up with Liam and the boys at the Cock-o-Barton, a local pub where the groom arrived driving a gorgeous Lamborghini – a spectacular gift for the day, and very much appreciated by all the groom party who kept disappearing for short trips around the lanes.

An Unusual Ring Bearer …

Holy Trinity Church in Bickerton is a pretty church at the side of the Sandstone Trail, and this is where Ellie and Liam chose to get married. Having known Ellie since she was small, the vicar was clearly so delighted to be the one to perform their marriage ceremony. The little church was packed with over 100 guests, along with a few well-wishers who gathered outside to see the bride and groom arrive. During the Ceremony, Bailey – the couple’s dog and the cutest of ring bearers – rushed down the aisle to deliver the rings at the right moment, with tonnes of enthusiasm too!

Back to the Tipi!

After the ceremony, we all headed over to Ellie’s family farm where the celebrations began. With welcome drinks and canapes to greet them, the guests gathered outside the huge tipi waiting for the arrival of the newly married couple. The archway was adorned with the same beautiful flower displays at the church – following a bit of a rush to get them in place before their Rolls Royce arrived! Ellie and Liam were greeted with a huge cheer as they ascended the hill on foot, ready to join their guests.

After the speeches came the food – perfectly barbecued, slow-cooked lamb courtesy of the Vargas Brothers, served with crispy potatoes and baby peppers followed by individual desserts by Plumage Catering. With contented stomachs, it was then time for the party to commence, with live band and great entertainers ‘The Royale’. Annie, from Chester Event Hire, did a grand job of making sure the Wedding Breakfast ran smoothly, staying late into the evening for the final serving of freshly barbecued burgers, again cooked perfectly by the Vargas Brothers.

The cake fitted in so well with the day’s theme, with an incredible resemblance to a silver birch tree. After the felling of this particular tree, it was time for Ellie & Liam’s first dance, and they certainly didn’t disappoint! With a lively couple of minutes of ‘I’m a Believer’, everyone was on their feet and ready to join in as soon as they were invited. The crazy dance floor continued into the night, and at the far end of the tipi was the fuel for all of their dancing – a fire pit with giant marshmallows and toasting sticks for guests to stand around and eat hot, crispy (or a little bit singed) treats!

As it went dark we couldn’t resist taking Ellie and Liam outside for just a few more photos, with the stunningly lit tipi and festoon lights creating the loveliest of backdrop for their wedding day evening.
What a memorable and really beautiful day for everyone!
