The best thing about The Abbeywood Estate for us is the huge open space with so many beautiful locations for photos. Katie and Jow had set their hearts on an outside wedding and their wish came true as the slightly chilly cloudy morning turned into a lovely warm sunny Spring day. Sitting on 45 acres of the loveliest of Cheshire countryside, the view from the lawn is breathtaking with the panoramic vista across the Cheshire plains.
Bride Preparations
Katie and her bridesmaids prepared for the day at Katie’s parents’ home in Sale with plenty of pampering and fizz. Then off to add the finishing touches in the Bridal Prep room at Abbeywood once the tables in the Orangery had been inspected and the seating plan repositioned by Katie and sister ‘Tash.
Last-minute Floral Re-arrangements
Meanwhile, Joe and the boys started to arrive and gather in the Bridal Suite to get ready together, helping each other with ties and buttonholes. Katie’s dad came to take her, arm in arm, through the formal gardens, across the bridge, and onto the open lawns where the wind caught Katie’s veil by surprise! Whilst waiting for his bride to arrive, Joe, his Best Man & the Celebrant struggled to keep the large vases of flowers upright in the wind so eventually opted for them to lie on the floor with a token bottle of fresh flowers stuck in the bases.
Luscious Orangery Wedding Breakfast Setting
After a short but lovely ceremony, we all headed over to the lines of trees which create a perfect place for confetti. Then, after drinks at the back of the house with a singer and caricaturist, it was time for speeches and the Wedding Breakfast in the Orangery. It doesn’t matter where you go at Abbeywood, around the gardens with the wildflowers and rectangular pond with a little bride and huge carp, the conservatory overlooking the multi-coloured tulips, or the acres of peaceful private woodland, everywhere is incredibly beautiful. We went for a casual stroll with Katie and Joe and were spoilt for choices where to go but the best moment of the day was capturing them in the dark, between the trees with the huge clear skies and millions of twinkly stars, a perfect end to a really lovely day.
