Ashridge House Wedding Videography

So, Hannah & Rob decided to go ahead this year with the wedding they had planned for so long at the stunning Ashridge House near Hemel Hempstead, a former home of King Henry VIII. As this was a much smaller wedding than previously arranged, due to Covid19  we offered to Live Stream Hannah & Rob’s Wedding Ceremony so that their friends and family, unable to attend in person, would be able to watch from the comfort of their own homes, on a laptop or even on their phones.

Natural Beauty

Magnificently set in An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the 190 acres of beautifully landscaped garden Ashridge House just cry out for aerial shots for a wedding. In order to really get the feel for the scale and beauty of this estate, we took along our drone to capture this too. On the day we had to be super organised with photographing, filming, and live streaming all at the same time!

Every room is pristine, just stunning with incredible aspects across the immaculate gardens and the ever so helpful staff always on hand to assist.

Stormy Weather

On the morning, the sky was rather grey and dull but at least we didn’t get the electric storm of the night before. We arrived early to set up the camera and tripods in the amazing Main Hall with its incredible sweeping Imperial cantilevered staircase and 29 metres up is a huge ornate square ceiling with a weather vane in the centre which displays the direction of the wind above the building. How cool is that?!

Wedding Chapel

Can you believe that Ashridge House has a total of 9 elegant rooms licenced for wedding ceremonies, including its own chapel, but the most impressive room has to be the Main Hall where couples get married on the splendid staircase!

Drone Heaven

Outside, by the Terrace, in the centre of the formal gardens is a beautiful fountain which is great for an aerial group shot, and across the lawns is a secret rose garden which smells delicious as you enter through a rose-covered archway. No matter where you stroll in the gardens the views of the estate are spectacular from every angle.

Live Streaming on Youtube

As filmmakers, we love the aesthetics of our sturdy tripods, however, our fab bride Hannah quite rightly didn’t like our tripod in front of the wonderful flower display (sorry Hannah!) on the mantelpiece above the main fireplace, so we took to hiding it amongst the flowers instead! The camera below was responsible for receiving broadcast-quality audio from the wireless mics on Rob the groom, and being used by those giving the readings.

Wedding Livestream

To be continued…

We are so looking forward to returning to this wonderful venue for Hannah & Rob’s Wedding Reception and filming & photographing the second part of their celebrations.
