Love is definitely not cancelled!
Wow, what a busy year Ryan & Rebecca have had! After being together for 8 years, Ryan proposed to Rebecca back in February 2020, just before lockdown. They then, not long after getting engaged, found out that they were expecting a baby in January 2021. Happy days! We couldn’t wait to be Rebecca and Ryan’s Stockport Town Hall Wedding Photographer!
Rather than postpone their day until next year, they decided to plan a small family wedding for September this year.
The Ceremony
Ryan & Rebecca chose to tie the knot at Stockport Town Hall. The Covid-19 rules meant we were all kept outside until the very last moment. Once inside, the usually busy room had been cleared of all furniture except for eleven chairs, two for the bride & groom, eight for the guests, and one for Lil ole me!
Ryan struck a solitary figure waiting on his own for Rebecca in the middle of this massive socially distanced room, however as soon as Rebecca walked in, you could feel their connection amplified by this strange atmosphere. Rebecca’s flowers were so beautiful, showing off a gorgeous Autumn colour scheme. She wore a delicate-looking long white dress and with her hair up, accessorised with a cute baby bump and an infectious smile, looking the definition of absolutely flipping radiant. The Ceremony was brief and focused only on the formalities but once outside it was confetti time! Plenty of rose petal confetti made for some fab shots, followed by a quick walk up possibly the busiest A road in the country, and I tried to avoid the traffic “Frogger” style, after deciding the best viewpoints were from the road, and not in the safety of the pavement.
Off to Vernon Park
We then headed off to a nearby park for some natural photos of the happy couple wandering around the gardens in the late Summer sunshine. We discovered some really lovely interesting places for photos in the park, which was very quiet, except for a few dog walkers. The highlight of the park for me was a long line of stone steps, with a tree-covered arched wrought iron canopy.
Mini Moon Lake District Staycation
After an hour or so of photos we headed back to meet up with their guests back at the cafe and some fun photos together before the newlyweds headed off to the Lake District together.
Small intimate wedding ceremonies definitely have a place in the new ‘normal’ The relaxed time we had with Rebecca and Ryan in the Park with their nearest and dearest, certainly gave us all the opportunity to create some fab images for their memories of their wedding day.
