Liverpool St George’s Hall Wedding Photography | Daniella & Lee

Daniella and Lee’s Liverpool wedding was one of the most enjoyable weddings we’ve photographed in a long time.

From the start, they were determined to do things their own way. No formal bridal party, no traditional wedding dress, no first dance and no pressure to follow a wedding rulebook. Instead, they created a day that felt completely personal, centred on family, friends and having a brilliant time.

A wedding full of personality

Daniella and Lee balance each other perfectly.

Daniella brought the energy. Vibrant, spontaneous and constantly on the move, she kept everyone entertained throughout the day. At one point during bridal prep she looked in the mirror and announced, “I love my face”, which pretty much summed her up. Confident, funny and completely herself.

Lee was the calmer half of the partnership. Steady, sensible and quietly taking everything in, he provided the perfect balance to Daniella’s enthusiasm.

What stood out throughout the day was how much attention had gone into the details without anything ever feeling formal. There were quirky touches everywhere, a slightly vintage feel, and a real sense that everything reflected who they were as a couple.

From Ellesmere Port to Liverpool

The day began at the Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port, where Daniella got ready with friends, while Lee headed into Liverpool for drinks before the ceremony.

Those early moments set the tone perfectly. Relaxed, sociable and full of laughter.

The ceremony took place at St George’s Hall, one of Liverpool’s most iconic wedding venues. The grandeur of the building provided a wonderful contrast to the laid-back atmosphere of the day. Afterwards, everyone gathered on the famous steps for confetti, hugs, selfies and photographs before heading across the road to Doctor Duncan’s.

Doctor Duncan’s and a vintage bus adventure

Doctor Duncan’s was one of the highlights of the day.

The cosy pub atmosphere suited Daniella and Lee perfectly. Everyone gathered for drinks, nibbles and speeches, creating a far more intimate atmosphere than a traditional reception room. Daniella’s dad Jason had everyone laughing, while Lee’s speech was equally well received.

The fun continued when a vintage red double-decker bus arrived to transport everyone back to Ellesmere Port. What could have been a simple journey quickly became part of the celebration itself.

There were G&Ts, singing, selfies and plenty of laughter. Somewhere along the way, tickets were collected with great enthusiasm, whether anyone needed them or not.

It was exactly the sort of moment that made the day so memorable.

Party time at Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port

Back at the Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port, the celebrations continued with more guests, a DJ, dancing and a cupcake tower instead of a traditional wedding cake.

Without a first dance or many of the usual wedding formalities, the evening simply felt like a fantastic party surrounded by people who genuinely wanted to celebrate with Daniella and Lee.

Afterwards, Victoria described it as the best non-wedding wedding we’ve ever attended.

It had everything that matters: family, friends, laughter, funny speeches, thoughtful details, singing on a bus and a room full of people having a brilliant time.

It just left behind the traditions that didn’t feel right for Daniella and Lee.

And that was exactly what made it special.
