How it all began….
When Lauren and Jordan met 16 years ago, neither of them could have imagined that all these years later they would be having their dream wedding with their family and friends in the heart of their home city of Liverpool at the uber-stylish Hope Street Hotel. The happiest person there must have been Francis, their totally handsome young son who just couldn’t stop smiling all day, even giving a short speech to say how happy he was to have seen his mummy and daddy get married.
The Preparations
The day started as we arrived at Hope Street Hotel to meet Lauren and both mums getting ready for the day in a bright and spacious bedroom, overlooking the ‘Phil’ as it’s affectionately known as in Liverpool (the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall). As Lauren relaxed whilst having her hair and makeup done, Francis, the amazing 5year old alternated between Bride/Mummy Prep and Groom/Daddy Prep as he clearly didn’t want to miss anything.
As the guests started to gather in the downstairs bar area the excitement began to build, especially when it was time for Lauren to put on her dress and prepare herself for the day. Just as Lauren’s dad came to see her for the first time in her stunning dress and escort his daughter up to the Ceremony room, Francis came to see his mummy ready for the wedding and to tell her how beautiful she looked.
In the meantime, Jordan, and his Groomsmen, had headed downstairs to greet their guests and have a sociable drink or two, steadying his nerves before the Ceremony.
The Ceremony
The Wedding was to be held in ‘The Fifth’, a stunning room on the Fifth Floor with incredible views over the Liverpool skyline and across the River Mersey to the Wirral and beyond. The Liver Birds were clearly visible as an iconic backdrop beyond the roof terrace too.
After the Ceremony everyone went through to the Fifth Two, a spacious larger room with two roof terraces with amazing views of every angle of the rooftops of Liverpool. Group photos, drinks, hilarious speeches with even a speech by Francis, a hairy wig and plenty of laughter, all in true Liverpudlian style!
Perfect end to a perfect day!
We went for a wander around the City for a few quiet romantic photos, accompanied by Francis (still wearing a huge smile) and James, the Best Man to help with Lauren’s dress (kind of….).
Partying into the small hours out on the roof terrace, in the warm evening with loads more laughter….a brilliant way to end a really lovely day.
