Chester Town Hall Wedding Photography

30th June 2024

Chester Town Hall is an iconic, historic, gothic-styled sandstone, deceptively large building with wood-paneled rooms with beautifully ornate ceilings. As you arrive up the double-sided steps you reach a platform to the very grand main entrance. Inside the doors of this icon 155-year-old landmark in the heart of Roman city Chester, you can see the sweeping staircases, grand oil paintings and wood carvings.
It’s clear why Jen and Mick fell in love with this as their wedding venue, especially as they had nearly 200 guests. They chose to say their vows in the stunning Council Chamber with 2 sides of the room having beautiful natural light through stained glass windows and even a secret door for Jen to make her entrance.

With so many guests, a large screen was erected on the ground floor in the Grand Hall for the remaining guests to watch live as the Chambers could not quite fit everyone in one place. The wedding ceremony was also live-streamed for even more guests who were unable to attend on the day.

The Town Hall venue staff led by Alice are the most helpful staff ever! From meeting us outside to help carry our equipment, to ensuring we were looked after with refreshments and beautifully presented food created by Paula and her team at the University of Chester. Harry, the Master of Ceremonies and family friend, kept things moving all day and the impromptu sing-along with the street musicians added to the atmosphere.

The evening went with a swing with a band getting everyone on their feet with their tribute to the 80s.
