Well, we have had a variety of animals at weddings, dogs as ring bearers, peacocks strutting about the grounds, but never before have we had pigs with a special invitation, the 2 gorgeous boys, Vivienne and Westwood. To be fair, there were three chickens to keep them company, a few sheep, two crazy border collies and even a tractor with a cart and a tipi in their field, completing the rustic countryside atmosphere that Kate & Carl had meticulously planned for the day …. ..they absolutely smashed it!
Tractored in top wedding style
Even the weather held it together, apart from a mini hurricane as we left the church, with their Ceremony held at the beautiful St Boniface’s Church in the heart of the idyllic village of Bunbury, just a short tractor ride to their home. Im not sure if the 3 young bridesmaids, Grace, Callie and Ophelia were more excited about the wedding or the ride in the tractor buggy afterwards.
Buns, Party and Pizza!
The Hog Roast pulled pork buns (don’t tell the boys) were lovely and the outdoor games brought out the competitive side in the guests, with young Xavier, the star of the Giant Jenga, beating all the grown-ups with his calculated moves and sleight of hand. After a warm afternoon outside, a tug of war (with an easy victory for Team Bride), the children hurtling themselves down the inflatable slide (over and over and over again… even when it had gone dark) everyone moved into the tipi for Carl’s speech, cake cutting and a very graceful first dance. Then it was time for pizza and some dance floor action. Bongos and a saxophonist really got the party going with some banging retro tunes from the DJ, some props and brightly coloured wigs.
Top day guys, we hope you had as much fun as we did!
