It’s been years since I donned my shorts and neckerchief, and I wasn’t quite sure from my memories of soggy scout camps as a kid, that a scout campsite with a big tent was going to be the most romantic of settings for David and Gilly’s wedding at Linnet Clough, Great Moor. I also wasn’t too sure about finding out that a cheeky young 14-year-old student of David called Fin was doing the videography when we arrived. Fin, however, was so professional and focused, he was a pleasure to work with, and unusually un-scruffy for a video guy.
The setting was perfect, a spacious and secluded field filled with a massive two hat tipi, a vintage caravan, stone baked pizza oven and a chippy van made for quite a Summer festival. Chilled out and relaxed this day certainly was, as demonstrated by David’s Hawaiian shirt later on, which messed with my cameras colour settings ?
The heatwave was back with a vengeance, and it was so lovely to see everyone carrying their sleeping bags across the car park to the Scout Hut in the evening, whilst Gilly and David had their own VW retreat closer to hand.
Catering was top notch, from the fab stone baked pizzas and VW flavoured fish and chips, to the bacon & sausage butties later on. Hard to dodge the calories tonight. Cheers guys for being such amazing hosts on your special day.
